Nurturing Power

Parents for Future is a nationwide network of parents and carers fighting for their kids’ future.

Evolving from a community group into a fully fledged change organisation, they’ve begun to find their voice and realise their power as a political bloc. They needed a brand as bold, bright and brave as their movement.

IDENTITY

For Future’s Sake

The PFF brand has a healthy creative tension at its core—between the fury and defiance felt by its members, and the empowerment, solidarity and hope enabled by the community.

Parents for Future is for all parents, not just activists. The brand is an invitation to join the fun, as much as a message to those in power. A broad colour palette allows for unexpected pairings, and helps communicate along a spectrum of emotion from sober to urgent to joyful.

The slogan ‘For Future’s Sake’ is a reminder of why they exist as well as an expression of urgency, exasperation and just a dash of humour.

OUTPUT

Tools for community-building

Being a collaborative community of parents, the brand is designed to be used by anyone. A toolkit of typography, images and easy-to-use templates is brought together with an accessible online brand guide.

So far the brand has adorned flags, t-shirts, banners, flyers and Instagram posts, and its reach continues to expand both online and on the streets.

Illustrations by PFF member Chrissy Hazel-Holmes help to humanise the brand and emphasise the sense of community that’s so central to the organisation.
